Homemade Apple Sauce

Applesauce is one of Ella's favorite foods. I use a very simple and healthy recipe that I hope your little one will love!

Prep time: 8 minutes

  • 1 organic Gala apple (you can use whatever you have at home)
  • cinnamon powder or sticks
  • coconut flakes (optional)

Simply peel your apple and dice into little squares. I use my Beaba Babycook to steam and blend the apple. If you don't own a Beaba Babycook, you can go ahead and steam them however you'd like, but I do HIGHLY recommend investing in the Babycook machine. Keep in mind, steaming locks in vitamins and nutrients, so sticking to a steamer is best.

It takes about 2-3 minutes for the apple to steam. Blend the apple pieces together. The texture in the Babycook machine comes out perfectly, but if you are using another appliance, you can add water/formula to create a smoother sauce. Add cinnamon powder and stir until it dissolves. Alternatively, you can use cinnamon sticks to add flavor and then make sure to take them out before feeding.

Top with coconut flakes (optional).

This recipe is for one serving, but can easily be made in larger quantities and saved for later.

*TIP* I get all of my groceries and organic fruits for Ella from Milk & Eggs, which is an online food delivery of farm fresh foods (from local growers or aggregators).
